MG must surely be able to take credit for creating the love affair of British Sport Cars by the North American market, with the TD alone taking great responsibility for it. It’s still a car that garners smiles and appreciation as they still look so good and in many eyes what British Sport Cars are all about. The example we have here is a great example of one. The number on the engine still matches that on the identification tag of the car. It is: XPAG / TD2 / 17300. Car number is: TD 17453 - EXL / NA. Body number is: 16805 / 88939 and body type is: 22381. The history as we were told by the person we got this car from was only the third owner, lived locally and owned it for about 20 years. Prior to that it belonged to Harry Anderson who played Judge Harry T. Stone of Night Court TV fame. He owned it for about five years having bought it from the original owner. It is a really lovely example and still has original Black California License plates on it. The car had a complete restoration a number of years ago and still shows very well. Another feature this car has and one that is a most unusual feature is the Chrome Wire wheels with 165 x 15 radial tyres. The headlights are the Lucas PL Tripod style. It has the full set of wet weather gear. Finished in White with Biscuit Leather interior.
