Here is a spectacular car with an equally spectacular history. Bought in Oakland California in 1958 as a one year old car and owned continuously by the same owner until approximately 2007. We have a wonderful letter from this owner stating such, (click PDF file to view letter. Also view photos below.). The ladies husband purchased the car for her and as she says, “It was used sparingly, never venturing out of California and seldom out of the Bay area”. The original license plates BNX967 were removed from the car during restoration and were misplaced. The lady had the restoration started with the intent of driving it after completion but as is often the case the restoration turned into an unexpected 10 year project. During this time her health and eyesight deteriorated to the point where she had to give driving. With no family members in a position to take over ownership she sold the car. We have many photos during the restoration process and written records of it. Only 9,000 of these cars were built back in 1957 and sold for around $5,225.00. Power is from Cadillac’s 365 cubic inch V8 originally rated at 300 horsepower going through a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. It has an original style working AM Radio with a working power antenna. Windows and seat are power operated. This is a very beautiful car that attracts a lot of admiration and has been restored to a very nice standard. Finished in its original colour, Orion Blue with a superb Dark Blue Leather interior and Black power convertible top.
